Bambi - STILL MISSING - From Semi Accident on the Turnpike
Bambi was thrown from a burning Semi on the turnpike on Thursday morning after the truck flipped and burst into flames. Her sister dog, Ruby, was found near Elizabeth Scott on Albon Rd. near where the accident happened... but little Bambi is still missing. She is a 17 pound Chihuahua/Besenji mix and is tan & white. She has a red collar on but no tags (allergic to metal). Her owners had to go back to Wisconsin but there is a very large group of people who are continuing the search for Bambi.
She is very friendly and should come to someone if they are patient with her... she is probably very scared. Her owner said she responds to "Bam", "Bambi" and "Go Bye byes". If you spot her please call one of the searchers right away!!!! Try to keep her in your sight until others get there. The most important thing is to call the sighting in as quickly as possible and give as much detail as possible - where, which direction she was headed, etc.
***DO NOT CHASE HER*** The best way to catch a lost dog is to lure them to you... not to chase them. Treats (hot dogs, cheese, stinky soft dog food), soft talking, and sitting/lying on the ground are much more effective. Getting down to their level is less threatening than standing. If you have a dog with you, sometimes it helps to actually turn your back to the lost dog and give your dog A LOT of attention...
ANYONE with information please call immediately. If you see her, the searchers need to know as soon as possible after the sighting so they can get out there before she moves on. Call anytime - day or night.
SHE MAY HAVE BEEN PICKED UP AND THE PERSON DOESN'T REALIZE SHE IS THE DOG WE ARE LOOKING FOR! If you have picked up a dog recently that looks like Bambi please call!!!! Her family misses her terribly!!!

Areas we are searching are The Quarry subdivision, MacQueens Orchard, Salisbury Rd., Holloway Rd., Garden Rd., Perrysburg-Holland, Heatherdowns... anywhere along the turnpike.... But please call even if you see a dog that looks like her in any other area. She could be further away by now. Or she may be sticking in the area where the accident happened. That is the last place she associates with her Dad and her sister dog, and their scents are still in that area.
