there used to be a place in Lambertville called Paint your masterpiece - you could go there, buy whatever kind of thing you wanted and paint it right there - then they'd fire it for you and you could come get it a week later...
They have since closed. Is there any other place in the area that does that? as part of a Christmas gift we'd like to have the kids make something to give to grandma...
Anybody ever been to that place off alexis that has the big sign that says "try ceramics"??
Try Ceramics is owned by some very awesome, honest and good-hearted folks. It's not fancy, but prices are reasonable. You can paint stuff there and pick it up later.
The Art Supply Depo has a classroom where you can paint mugs, bowls, plates, holiday ornaments, or tiles. Takes about a week to get them fired and retured. Call The Depo to schedule, 419.720.6462 it's a very cool place, run by some awesome women.
thanks Upso - I called em. their kiln is on the DL right at the moment, but should be back up and running the first week in dec. plenty of time for my in-house artist to go over there and make a treasure for my mommy. the person I talked to said we could even buy and paint a mug that she had made herself, so a hand made and hand painted gift... I'll be the man!!
... and after she makes her masterpiece she could hoof it over to Grumpy's and get me a cookie or three!!
I had Grumpy's garbage salad for lunch today and it was awesome.
(Takeout - I wasn't the one who picked up the order, or else I would have said hi to upso.)
I don't mean to go off topic but I've been hearing a lot about this garbage salad. I like a good salad may have to check it out.
