With each magazine (I'm a subscriber) I am always anxious to see how Toledo has done, if they've improved, or gotten a bit better. Seems to be about the same in those polls. Trend seems to be Toledo is lumped in with Fattest and the Drunkest U.S. cities.BUT on the positive, Toledo seems to do well with being a sexually active city, for whatever that is worth shrugs
I've always wondered WHY is Toledo such a sad city.... I really don't believe it's THAT miserable here. We have a great zoo, Metro Park system, museum, really close to Cedar Point, Lake Erie, good restaurants, nice malls, (most) people are really friendly. People just seem to forget about our positives as it is easier to harp on the negatives.

The city is not sad, it's "some" people who live here who are negative that give us a bad reputation. Just read some of the posts on this site, so much negativity all over it.

Negativity like drastically rising crime, homes underwater in one of the most depressed RE markets in the country, poor k-12 education, lack of employment?
Pretty marsh lands, bike trails, and all that BS doesn't mean anything when you can't find a job and your kids goto a school filled drug dealers and violence.
Maybe we all need to buy rose colored glasses, or maybe we should start holding our local leaders more responsible.

Hasn't that excuse expired yet? It's so worn out. I never heard that lame excuse before until I moved into Toledo. Be creative and devise something new like blaming seven months of dreary weather. It seems that a favorite pastime in Toledo is to accuse other Toledoans of being negative. There can't be another city like Toledo where so much negative talk exists about others supposedly being negative. Just like there can't be another city on this planet like Toledo that has spent the past several years trying to figure out garbage collection. Discussing the ineptitude and malfeasance of local elected dolts is not negative.
