I wonder how many this would effect?

Me! However, we keep our antenna and rotor in good working condition and have our service set up so that we can switch to the air just by using the TV remote. So, while I wont be able record any CBS programming, I can still watch. Do not want to miss "The Good Wife". We sometimes watch the "CSI's", "Mike and Molly", "Criminal Minds" and "The Mentalist".

School starts for me next week so I'll be studying and not spending too much time in front of the TV. The hub will probably just go in the garage and see how much more he can enrage the one neighbor across the street by practicing his drums. Thursday the guy came out and threw a beer can at our house. Classy. Anybody know how to sound proof a garage door?

I think the WTOL vs ATT Uverse thing will probably last a while. The neighbor vs drum practice session issue is another story.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!! Isn't ATT U-Verse in direct competition with their very good partners- The Blade- in that they are owned by the same company as Buckeye CableSystem. Looks like by their own definition - they CAN'T do business with ATT.

holland, you can find full episodes of most CBS shows on cbs.com.

Criminal Minds is one of my favorite shows. I have the DVR programmed for it, but it's always good to know the website is there as a backup.

Doesn't CBS carry a lot of the NCAA basketball games? I'd imagine that might upset some sports fans.

CBS also carries NLF games, including the Cleveland Browns, on Sundays.

Doesn't this happen every year but with another provider? Sometimes its Dish, DirectTv, Buckeye, whatever and there's always a last minute deal. WTOL runs a ridiculous crawl about it during their daytime programming as a warning. Just annoying.

Agreed taxiang. The crawl is annoying. And I've been through provider disputes when we had DISH. They dropped Court TV (now defunct) for literally months before it came back.

This is why we keep our tower antenna and all connections working. You never know.

Thanks mom2 about reminding me that I could catch programming on CBS.com.

WTOL & U-Verse reached a temporary deal

The issue is something called "retransmission consent". It's not new--it has been a part of negotiations between local stations & cable/satellite systems.

Local TV stations are entitled to negotiate for retransmission of their signals via a cable or satellite system. When stations feel like they're getting a bum deal or the cable/satellite provider feels like the station is demanding too much, they threaten to pull the station off the system.

There have been some blackouts, but not for too long.

ATT is noted for this. Almost two years ago they got in a dispute with Hallmark and they still have not settled. That's why I dropped ATT along with very poor customer service.
