Lourdes "Its my turn" Santiago, are you kidding? We can't do better than just another recycled politician?

Wow. He didn't even want an investigation about this at first.

Everyone, including myself, give The Blade a lot of shit but there is no other news department in Toledo that does this kind of thing.

The tv news just ignore it, the Free Press hasn't the resources and WSPD "news radio" actually defends it and attacks anyone trying to investigate.

So yes, thank you Toleo Blade, please do more of this...

Agree, SG, it's all about the information. Always want more. We need to know.

If new reports are correct, there has been an ongoing investigation. I highly doubt that these two individuals were fired without cause. (But you never know these days.) If I was fired without cause I'd claw my way back and clear my name no matter what it took.

This is a long, long way from being over. These can't be the only two heads that roll. And as SensorG posted, having a daily independant newspaper with an investigative staff is vital to keeping government transparent and citizens informed.

The Blade is hardly an "independant newspaper."

Independent, in that local government cant tell it what to print or not to print.

So Jodi Prude & Toni Thomas both get demoted because of various charges that would get most people fired! Of course, they are 'migrated' to the Public Services Dept, the DUMPING ground for City of Toledo workers. Think about your water bills & that 3/4% "TEMP" tax renewal. This is our money

SensorG you make valid points. Where is the WSPD apology? They were giving their usual partisan spin on the Blade's investigation without doing any investigation. When will WSPD spend the money and invest in some true news team to go out and get the stories. Too cheap I guess. Easier to take pot shots for ratings sake. Reminds me when Denny Schaffer (former WSPD talk show host) bought the false story of Tom Noe and how he was being falsely accused. It took more than a week for Denny to figure out that the Blade was correct and he had egg on his face.
