We just saw a V of 20 tundra swans flying high over the Westgate parking lot (heading east -- going back to the ONWR I suppose). It's been a beautiful day to hike around within the city limits and enjoy sunshine, fresh snow, calling birds, and open skies. This sort of outing would not have been possible in other cities I've lived in ... we are blessed with natural resources here.
Also, today is national Squirrel Appreciation Day, Jan. 21 :-)
