North, South, East, West Toledo Boundaries

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I did do a search on here and Google'd the question before I posted it.

I am looking for information on what the widely accepted (or OFFICIALLY recognized) boundaries are for N, S, E, W and central Toledo are, seeing as we don't actually reference them in TRUE geographic terms. I understand the why, I just want to be able to make a map showing where these boundaries are.

I am also making a map of all the Toledo Neighborhoods and their boundaries. I found this link: http://www.city-data.com/nbmaps/neigh-Toledo-Ohio.html but as you can see, it doesn't show the what the street boundaries are. Does anyone know what city department can provide this information?

Thank YOU!

To find out how the city designates the areas, best to call the Mayor's office (419-245-1001) and they can get you to the appropriate department. Might be interesting to know if different departments (neighborhoods vs. streets/bridges/harbors vs. police) designate them differently.

Interestingly, on your linked map, they have Point Place and North Toledo backwards. lol

Thank You Mrs. Thurber!
I will call them a call. I know that outside city government, the consensus on the streets is there is no consistences on this topic. I would hate to publish a map that everyone is going to say is wrong. Once I get the N. S. E. W. issue solved, then I can tackle the 32 neighborhoods. :-)

We usually call our neighborhood – Ragan Woods, not Southwych…

SensorG, to clarify, does Ragan Woods have the same boundaries as Southwyck or is it a subdivision of Southwyck?

Our street, one block long, is listed in both North and West Toledo. I found other similar situations in the end of town I have always lived in. FYI - I always thought we lived in West Toledo but.......

I would be really interested to see this when it's done! I have this hope that someone will eventually do a Toledo neighborhood map sort of like this: http://www.naplab.net/#1250836/Neighborhoods-of-Indianapolis

It is going to be an interesting project. I can't wait to get it published and see how long it takes the disputes to begin. I already plan on color coding disputed territories in RED and hope the whole map doesn't turn RED. But once its done I will share the files with anyone interested to do their version/vision of what KAJ posted.

The Old West End Historic District has specific designated borders: http://toledooldwestend.com/about/location/

It is simple. North is West...South is West.

I went to that link and the map gave me a headache and almost threw me into a seizure. What a shitty map.

I actually find this map very interesting. The demographic information is especially informative. Where is the data pulled from? Census reports?
