Fresh Eel?

Hi, I've called every fish store in town and every asian store in town and the Fresh Market. Anybody have any other ideas where I can buy fresh eel?

How about most any Sushi restaurant? Most make several different items with fresh eel. Perhaps they'd sell some to you.

Aside from that, you'd likely have to head north to the Detroit or Ann Arbor area to find it at a market.

I've gotten frozen at the asian market, but never fresh. The frozen was fine after cooking and seasoning...we made sushi as eel and avocado is my favorite roll.

I'd be surprised if you could regularly find fresh eel. Even the Japanese restaurants get it frozen, I'm sure. Have you been able to find fresh eel in the Midwest on a regular basis before?
