Can you post the site you're getting your info from? Is it sandwiched between “fluoride in drinking water is a communist plot” and “contrails used to control weather” articles?

You know its amazing to me that anyone from an opposing view always tries to discredit the messenger from either side when the message is not to their liking. I don't mean with basic proven facts but generalizations of craziness or inebriation. Not saying that some of the stuff I have heard wasn't a little out there but the truth can be even stranger than what is posted here. The same people that discount the even remote chances that anything from a conservative talk show host might be anything but pure insane fiction or some sort of cruel crazy vendetta. seem to swallow the liberal story as fact set in gold type given to them by their very own mother. Can anyone really know all the facts? some of you seem to think they have some sort intellectual superiority over the rest of the common man and think therefore they have to be correct in their thinking. In fact they think they are so smart they think they know how everyone else should live, act, talk, eat, etc. They even want to tell you what you should think. Sadly they have deluded themselves into believing what they are doing is morally justified for the betterment of all, when in actually its just for the betterment of themselves and their inflated egos.
I'm going to try to not even read anymore of the politics in here till after November because I frankly am starting to get sick from some of the posts, I look and see how we are becoming more socialistic as a country and how it has affected us as a nation and its not pretty. See you all in other threads maybe.

Just the moniker "Linecrosser" raises hackles with many union posters. The problem is the right wing has taken a severe path of extremism that most people find abhorrent. The Republican debates have reveled candidates that have little chance of being elected. Seems the powers that be will attempt to buy the election to cover for their extremist agenda.

When you start reading a long political thread from the bottom up, it's quite amusing to see random things like this. (Without having seen where the topic got side tracked previously.)

As Linecrosser's post was directed at me, I'll respond.

I attempt to ignore the talking heads from both sides - Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. annoy me just as much as Maddow, Olberman, etc. Breitbart was yet another face attempting to pass opinion as actual news, his popularity due to him pandering to a certain group of the population exactly what they want to hear in as loud of a way as possible - same as the others.

I've known of him but never seen him speak prior to watching that video - maybe he acted that way all of the time, I don't know. Can you SUBJECTIVELY watch that video and say that he doesn't seem intoxicated?

I think this thread and this other thread were the reasons why political threads were hidden from the front page. Threads like this could certainly be ignored, but why pick up the trash in your front yard? Just ignore it.

And here's another "concern." Looking at the last 40 active threads under the politics forum, only around eight threads (20 percent) could be considered to be focused on local politics. I did not expect the percentage of local political threads to be that low. If the percentage of true local political threads was at least 50 percent, then I would not make this comment.

So I may adjust things some more. Only local political topics will remain on the front page. I think the Toledo area has plenty of political issues to discuss or yell about. The non-local political threads will be hidden from the front page, and users will have to return to clicking the "politics" link in the narrow column on the homepage to view these other political threads.

And the idea that national political issues will affect us locally won't work for this case. Those threads will still be hidden. Only true local political topics will remain on the front page.

The problem is I don't yet know how to implement this change, so I guess things will remain as they are for the next day or two.

Sensor, IF obama, for any reason would drop out, are you saying Hillary couldn't throw her hat in the ring? Or better yet, wouldn't? It's not like she hasn't been vetted, either. There wouldn't be any third party situation. Biden would take his place only up to the actual election/inauguration. Hillary could be nominated by acclamation at the convention if a situation like that happened. I think if Obama seriously tanks as a result of the Harvard Tapes, the democrats' party will do anything possible to keep the White House. If it comes to that, who could prevent her from making a move? Don't forget, a lot of folks have gotten burned by underestimating Team Clinton.
