Check the Asian market on Monroe street near Talmage. Could have sworn I saw it in the freezer there.

I searched all over for it. Ended up buying online at dartagnan foods.

My wife has bought duck fat at the Williams-Sonoma store in the Westfield Mall.

Maggie Thurber mentioned she got it somewhere in town also. I think it was the Fresh Market.

Excerpts from Maggie's Feb 26, 2012 comment that was posted in The Fresh Market thread:

The other thing is that they carry unusual ingredients you won't find most other places. I've done some special meals lately and needed things like duck fat and marscapone and blini. Fresh Market carries them as standard items.

Excellent! Thanks! Don't know why I assumed it wouldn't be at Fresh Market. Duh.

You can buy pure rendered duck fat at www.farmfreshduck.com and Ohio is just 2 days via UPS Ground. They have a variety of sizes and actually supply most of the fancy gourmet labels. Their ducks are USDA certified All-Natural.

Thank you for offering another source, DuckChef :-)

In the six weeks I've been using duck fat, I have to say I am in LOVE! Herbs de Provence and duck fat with potatoes. It's like tasting heaven.

Probably kills you twice as fast though.

Twice as fast as what? It's healther than butter or margarine, and tastier too!

Besides, I have other things killing me much faster than that ever would, so it's a non-issue for me.

If I could die by duck fat, so be it...

I wanna be buried in a vat of duck fat. With the whole shebang wrapped in bacon.

That way, I'll sure stink the place up great when I get to hell :-)

I think I'm going to buy some duck fat this weekend, just because I think this is a cool thread.
