The electronic voting machines at Shoreland School in the Point are not working. Was offered a paper ballot. In Lucas County???!!! HA! Not a chance I'd trust a paper ballot in this county. Will try again this evening after work.
Voting Machines Not Working in the Point

I just voted in Sylvania and they never have their shit together on time. There were several people waiting behind me by the time I got to vote. I think after this, I will go after work.
I had no line at 7am in the South End. Wasn't happy to find out that I was in district 5 now...

Hmmmm. I wonder how The Blade will figure out a way to pin this problem on Tom Noe or the Seneca County Commissioners??

inga - what precinct? I normally vote at the Legion on Centennial Rd.
Have never had a problem there, though I do tend to vote after work.
(I can barely get everyone out the door and to work/school on time as it is, much less leave earlier to vote before work. LOL)
We are normally all paper ballots down here. Not that a vote really matters in this state. If it isn't going to the evangelicals chosen one it is thrown away.

You'd rather trust an easily hackable machine with non-open-source software that could do anything from count your vote properly to display all the proper names yet record your vote as one for Bugs Bunny internally to changing one out of every ten votes to someone else?

Is Ohio open to all for voting or just Republican and Independents? Know it varies state to state.

INC - open to all.
Actually, there's a big race for the Democrats today. Kaptur vs. Kucinich.

Yes, ac, I'd much rather take my chances on one of the "evil machines" you describe. Especially after the magical appearance of some 1,500 paper ballots in the closet of the early voting center after Sarantou had been declared the unofficial winner in the county commissioner's race.
Anyone who believes those weren't manufactured votes after the fact also believes in the tooth fairy.
Foodie, at least those are physical ballots that "magically appeared" that can be examined, fingerprinted, whatever. You have NO way of knowing how many e-votes were added, deleted, or changed. What happens if there's a lightning strike at the polling place and the EMP wipes the machines clean?

Dude, where the FUCK where you that you missed out on all that drama? Oh well, I guess there's gonna be a whole pile of idiots who wake up today and realize that the GOP's redistricting dicked them over. Now if only they remember that in November.

I know about the redistricting, but I couldn’t find a detailed map of what district I was now in. I knew the line was close, but couldn’t tell which line side I was on. Found out today…
I heard a lot of complaining that Marcy wasn't on a persons ballot today. They were completely ignorant as to what district they were now in. It was not an uncommon situation.
The Blade has an article up online now addressing the district 5 vs 9.
Apparently a whole lot of people were supprised when they arrived at the polling location.
A few said that if they'd known they weren't going to be able to vote for Marcy, they would have voted in the Presidential primary.

If you didn't know your district changed, you are probably a straight ticket voter and are not aware of the candidates/issues that will be on the ballot. Do everyone else a favor and stay at home if you plan on voting in an ignorant fashion.

Went tonight after work. The machine was a bit quirky. Had to press the "print ballot" several times on the same section because it kept giving a beep error.
Sadly where I was they said they believe we'll have less than 13% turn out.
This was also a bit odd:
Last election I enjoyed the fact people were handing out information on the candidates and what was on the ballot. Heaven forbid people be better educated on what they're voting for.

Sorry about the space, not sure why that happened. My last line was right after the img link so it wasn't intentional.

What are the boundaries of district 5? I vote at All Saints on Heatherdowns and Reynolds and I'm apparently in district 5, Reynolds Elementary about 2 miles Northeast is district 9 and the Elmhurst area is district 5 again. What are the boundaries?
The wrong-ballot story is currently at the top of DrudgeReport.com

The link points to a Politico article.
From the Toledo Free Press story :
From the Politico story which misspelled Steve's last name:

I'm not sure what the exact boundaries are, but I reside in District 5 now. (Sylvania Twp - vote at the American Legion on Centennial Rd)
Someone was on WTOL's Facebook page complaning that Sylvania "forgot" to put Kaptur/Kucinich on the ballot. Sigh...really?
Sylvania shouldn't be blamed for any mistake - the ballots are controlled by the Board of Elections - not a City

Tell you guys what, I'll move into Lucas County and we can have Sensor and myself and two of the Republicans on this board run the BOE and jr be the head of the BOE. Maybe then the elections won't be F'd up.

It wasn't an actual mistake though. We're not in Marcy's district anymore...the person making the complaint was just a dumba**. LOL
LOL I agree!!!
