Major Pot Holes in front of our house

We live off Commonwealth right by Eleanor area and there are some HUGE, I’m talking at least a foot- foot half holes in front of our house in the street. It’s so hard to drive your car down our road because of these terrible holes.

Is there any advice or a number I could call to have them filled? They are super dangerous especially with the way people drive.

I have a homemade solution: wait until dark, go out and paint around the edges of the holes with fluorescent orange paint. Then re-use some old political campaign yard signs (painted orange, with the word POTHOLE in black -- in really big letters), and stick them in the grass nearby.

That can help reduce the danger until the city comes out to take care of it. If you get each hole dressed up that way, it would be quite a sight on your stretch of road!

The spouse has always called a city number from the phone book -- I will ask him tonight if you don't get the info from others.

Stooks - I live at Commonwealth and Gould and they were patching potholes today when I was home at lunch. I think that's all they are going to continue to do as they are continuing sewer work.

I thought the City has some more sewer work planned for this area? Hopefully it gets done quickly. I'm sure they will be repaving the streets where the new sewers are going in, so it will be worth the wait. (Almost makes me wish we had sewer problems in MY neighborhood, as that seems to be the only way to get a street repaved in the cidyataleda...)

Tex - It's been going on for over a year now...they aren't working on my street but it's been torn up by the machines using it. I'm not sure if my street is next or what, but just what I need while trying to sell my house - torn up street. Frustrating...

AV, that really sucks about you trying to sell a house with that mess. I went to a friend's house on Hagley a couple times in January and it was terrible.

AV, yeah that does stink about trying to sell your house....that's why I am in the position I'm in- renting my brothers house because they moved out of that area and couldn't sell the house for what they owe on it.

Oh boy, bring on the dust, it appears as if they are going to start working directly in front of our house. UGH

OMG, I'm shocked, they actually filled some of the potholes on North Haven.

Yup...sure does suck. Last year we had the gas lines replaced and it took them 5 weeks after they finished to actually replace the side walk. Too late to grow the grass back...

Stooks - looks like I'm probably going to have to rent too...very little interest in 10 months. The good news out of this...the roads should be repaved and look nice in several months.

Can't wait till I'm moved into my new place....in the fall
