You are always so helpful in finding the information and products I need! Now I am looking for beep-free belts so I can go through airport security without having to take my belt off. I see them online but would prefer to buy one locally. I tried Sears, Target, Kohls, Pennys, but no luck.
Beep Free Belts?

I travel all the time and I never take my belt off.
I find that a piece of twine works well and also gives you that rustic look.

Twine? I am afraid I will look like Jethro Bodine! In Europe it seems to be common to have you take off your belt if it has metal. Last time I had to do that going through Frankfurt and Paris every time we switched planes...kind of annoying...

The Internet: an amazing searchible tool...
TDU Belt - 1.75' Plastic Buckle
If you are looking for a quality tactical belt at a great price our TDU® tactical belt with its non-metallic buckle is the one for you. Super-strong nylon webbing has been triple stitched to maintain a great shape and keep the buckle securely in place. The low profile, non-metallic buckle is extremely durable and won’t set off metal detectors at airports in the courthouse. The nylon will hold its color through washings, heavy use and exposure to the sun. The tactical belt makes a great tie-down for securing gear when you’ve run out of tie-down options. With sizes from small to 4XL we have the TDU® belt for you. If you plan on carrying gear on this tactical belt you may want to go up a size to accommodate holsters, cuff pouches, and other accessories. We know you’ll love this tactical belt.

I have never flown myself but I'm curious. Does anyone know if titanium would set off a metal detector? I have a 40mm titanium plate and 6 screws in my neck.
A lot of tactical things have little to no metal.
This is because metal on metal makes a distinct noise when they bang together.
Plastic on Plastic on the other hand sounds much more of a natural sound. When going to the field I've always inspected my Marines and made them jump up and down a few times to make sure their gear has been "silenced" which is normally nothing more than putting electrical or duct tape over anything metal to dull the noise.
JM, yes titanium will set off a metal detector.
I have to take my belt off every time I fly, domestic or international. I'm gonna' try one.

I use a normal belt with a metal buckle and have never had an issue.
It's interesting and unfortunate that the TSA experience varies from airport to airport and agent to agent. I traveled approximately 30 times in 2011, both domestically and abroad. Some security crews remind every passenger to remove shoes, jackets, belts and to empty pockets. Others seem to be simply watching the clock for end of shift. Some insist that the laptop, kindle and phone all be outside the briefcase. Others say only laptop, unless the briefcase is full. My husband, who travels with similar frequency, was convinced that the restriction on liquids in carryon baggage had been lifted because he often went through with full size bottles of shampoo and tubes of toothpaste without being stopped. On a silly note, I wore a skirt with silver threads and it set off the body scanner. Thank goodness I didn't have to strip. That would NOT have been pretty ;) Go for the twine (just not sparkly) and put on a real belt after you clear security.
