TT Peeps. I am looking for a Matchbook from the old Renee's in South Toledo. I am willing to pay decently for it. Any idea where I can find one?
Matchbook from Renee's?

I have lots of match books (used to collect them) and the South End is my hang out, but when/where was Renee's exactly?
Corner of Byrne and Glendale. Was Henry J's I think at one point...next to Glenbryne Pharmacy and the theaters. Chances are if you don't remember the place you don't have one. Very Popular spot in the early 80's. Thanks for looking SensorG.

I was too young for the bars in the 80's. I'll around though.
Oh man what memories. Renee's was the place to go in 1982.
Monday night rock nights were the best.. also, when they had Wednesday night customer appreciation... ah, I miss those days... I don't remember much of them, but I still miss them...
I remember Henry J's. Teen night in the late 80's. As someone who lives in South Toledo and frequents Doc Watson's, I always wonder why it is sitting empty. Hopefully it isn't another case (think Southwyck mall) where the out of town landlord is using the place as a tax write-off while letting it decay. Any insight?

Oh man, I spent many a night at Henry J's in the early 90s. Many a many, scandalous nights.
My brother-in-law was a manager there. I'll check with him but it's going be a couple weeks. Going fishing!
Thanks Offshore.

My grandparents had a small tin of matchbooks. Some are local and some are just outside of the Toledo metro area. No Renee's, but some others you may want for your collection. Check out that awesome Ponderosa one!
email me if you want them: smbfc (a) bex.net subject matchbooks

Anyone have any luck finding the Renee's logo.

I used to frequent Renee's. We always sat up high, behind the DJ, and no one, NO ONE, ever took our spots.
China Gate was cool because they never carded, and their mai tais were wicked.
