O.K. Who recalls the Northwood Inn, on N. Summit St.,

now, Fritz & Alfredo's ? The owners had poker, private parties, and other adult activities upstairs.
Another lost good time place where the Law, was also part of the "criminality" !

And, when Toledo, was double cool & very prosperous !

I sort of remember it. But not adult activities upstairs. when was that?
But I do remember Acapulco's on Summit near Cherry.. After 2AM when the bars closed it was a great place to go.

Acapulco I believe moved out to Broadway. Outstanding Mexican food.

Remember it well. The food was delicious!! Separate bar and dining area with a fire place. Wonderful salad bar. Complimentary cheese bread appetizers. Talking about it makes my mouth water.
Upscale. . .on a par with any of the best restaurants
in Toledo today. I believe the owners name was Gen Dunko.

oh those green awnings of elegance.

I clearly remember the Northwood Inn. Fantastic dining and backstories, all in my own neighborhood, up the street from the old Eddie's Place!

CatLady, Wasn't their name Durko ? More reminiscing:The luxurious deep red and gold wallpaper was incredibly New Orleans whorehouse-like,condom machines in the head, and upstairs...where I had a college-graduation party that lasted till dawn ! Ahhh, the good Ol Daze in T-Town,lost but, never forgotten...

Do you really reminisce about "condom machines in the head," BigWillard?

The Northwood Inn was indeed fine dining. Enjoyed many great meals there.

As for the current occupant - not so much.

Agreed there 100% Foodie! The Northwood's , ambiance was especially naughty , food was great ( clam chowder=superb ) , owners very accommodating & gracious. For an ignorant son of a great man...it enlightened me into eye opening "City-things", that a Free People, enjoyed. Even as it had certain "illegalities" about it,that no one was concerned for at all! Geez,I'm getting a wee bit verklempt...
