Tailgate set up and ready to go! Beautiful day and a good sized crowd already.
I can see Grumpy's from our tailgate and now I'm craving a garbage salad. (Upso, swing by for a beer if you see us.) :)
Beautiful day in downtown Toledo!!

No meat today, or I'd be all over that garbage salad! (Brought black bean burgers and made meatless chili for the tailgate.)
Yeah, it's building up quick! Was downtown from about 11:30 til 12:30. When I got down there, there was very little going on. By the time I left, cars were everywhere, tailgaters were set up, and cones were being set up! I'm pumped to get back down there in a few hours!
Gonna take one of the runts down there but not sure if they are old enough to really enjoy it. Maybe just walk around and grab something to eat.
My kids are down here enjoying the sunshine. (Inlaws are picking them up before the game, so we can enjoy an evening out.)
my friends keep texting and calling, asking for me to come back down town. noooooooo way! i'm way too used to quiet downtown toledo. today, it's a madhouse! :)
in a good way of course!
Another record crowd for opening day. There are 13,327 fans in attendance today. This beats even the Crystal Bowersox opening day.The naysayers that said that they would never go to a game in downtown Toledo have been extremely silent these days.It looks like they were wrong about moving the stadium.

Took my family to Libbey Outlet, was surprised so see how many people were tailgating in the parking lot there near the Farmers Market :) looked like a fun time. Town was hopping today even around 12-1pm

Man... what a good freakin time. I've been to countless Mudhens games, probably a minimum of 10 a season since they've moved downtown, but this was my first opening day. Damn I had a good time! This was the first time that I really had no idea what was going on during the game. It was like I watched the first inning or two, started socializing, and then all of the sudden, it was the 9th and people were counting down the last outs! Really, probably the best time I've had in downtown yet!

What a fun time! We were downtown from noon through the end of the game.
Tons of people milling around having a great time. It would be nice to see downtown like that all the time. (Even if on a slightly smaller scale.)
Upso...I tried to pop into Grumpy's - was going to buy some of your delicious cookies for my kids. But I wasn't paying attention to the time, and I walked over there at 2:20. Oops!
P.S. This was my 10th consecutive Opening Day downtown. It is always a great time and a great crowd. If you've never been, I highly recommend that you go next year!
