any favorite entree's we should try when going for the first time?

We've eaten there a couple of times. First time, ordered off the menu - sorry, can't recall exactly what we ordered - and it was outstanding.
2nd time we did the buffet. It was "ok" but not as good as the menu items. Then again, we're not big buffet fans (for numerous reasons) anyway.
Whatever you order, be sure to try their Naan. It was memorable. Not much ambiance but, then again, you can't eat the ambiance.
Naan...nom...nom...nom...
(translation: their naan is so good you turn into a naan-zombie)

Masala is our go-to Indian restaurant. We usually do carryout and get an order of plain naan (best in Toledo), vegetable samosa (potato dumplings) and either chicken korma or saag paneer. Usually the chicken korma, which is in a spicy tomato based curry sauce. Total cost is less than $16, which is pretty cheap for two people.
Funny story about Masala: they always ask how spicy you want your dish. One time, I heard the server go back and put in an order. The cook asked "How spicy?" and the server said "American medium." Makes me wonder how much hotter the authentic dishes are!
I like Jewel of Toledo as well and Tandoor, too. I don't understand why they are all bunched up in one area. I would think that someplace like Cricket West would be a perfect spot with all the students and professors in Old Orchard.
someone told me that I wont be disappointed the first time if we just get the 'dinner for 2' Supposedly a nice sampling of a lot of things
Mmmmmm! That sounds really good right now! ALL of it!
I make this ever couple of months. It's a bit of work, but well worth it and it's better than most naan you get in the restaurants...

Only two changes I make -
1) I add a little sugar to the warm water in step 1 to prime the yeast.
2) i don't add garlic the dough but add it to the melted butter.
I often add wood chips to my gas grill for a hint of smokiness. Often it’s a family affair for us. My wife will roll out the dough balls 2-3 at a time, my kids bring them to me on the grill and take back the finished ones. I do make it myself sometimes as well. Awesome stuff…
^^Thanks for the post SG. I know what I'll be making this weekend to go along with the Rogan Josh simmered chicken and vegetables. Good eats.

Let me know how it goes. If I wasn't in the middle of so many home projects, I'd make the bread this weekend myself.
Did they get their liquor license? Last time I was there it was BYO wine (which was nice from a cost standpoint). I had the Chicken Tikka and it was fantastic but very spicy. Next time I need to specify "American medium", I guess.
If you ask, they will show you the cook making the naan in the tandoor. Sticks his hands right in the kiln. Scary!
I've heard that some of the people who owned Masala have moved on to the Star of India, also on S. Reynolds.

Star of India got a great review in the Blade about a month ago.

I don't trust The Blade's reviews. I'm going to go and see for myself.
I haven't had Indian food in a long while, and now I'm hungry.
