Tuesday July 24th. David Lee Roth back with the band, although I did enjoy Sammy Hagar's stint with the band. Finally something other than country at HC. I will definitely be getting tickets for this show. I think tickets go on sale to the general public on April 28th.

Found out last night, it's spreading like wildfire by numerous sources this morning. Tickets on sale May 5th, not April 28th
Van Halen Tue Jul 24, 2012
TBA Huntington Center (Formerly Lucas County Arena)
Toledo, OH
How do they sell tickets before ticketmaster? Just curious? Are they guaranteed?

Great show! We're really pulling in good shows this summer between the Zoo, Huntington, and even Centennial Terrace.

I get mine before the general public and Ticketmaster due to my "first in line" package with the HC. Expensive, but guarantees me the same seat for every event if I want them.

Centennial Terrace has a decent line up this summer. I might even consider going to the Gavin DeGraw/Colbie Caillat show.
I don't always buy tickets for the shows there, because we can hear the music from our house. But, if the ticket price is right, it would be nice to actually sit down and see one of the concerts instead of just listening from our porch. LOL
Van Halen was my favorite band from about age 9-14. Then, it became a guilty pleasure when I got into "cooler" bands like R.E.M., New Order, the Cure, etc. Never cared for the work the work they did with Hagar. To me "1984" was the final album. I won't be attending the show as I think Thomas Wolfe was correct in that you can't go home again. I always want to remember them like this:

Use to enjoy this song as a young kid. Perhaps my first rock song.
Curious who is their singer now? Sammy Hagar?

Diamond Dave is back. But strangely, bassist Michael Anthony isn't. It does make a difference because Anthony provided a lot of background vocals and his voice has a distinctive sound.
Eddie kicked Michael Anthony out of the band to make room for his son (Eddie's) who is in the current lineup.
haha, Eddie didn't kick Mikey out the band, he left with Sam!!
I loved VH from 1977 through Jump. I was cool with the Sammy stuff, but I could tell during the Monsters of Rock tour that Eddie had jealousy issues. Sammy is an all-around better performer than Eddie, and Eddie knew it. Fast forward 20 years: You can't go home again. VH has jumped the shark. Diamond Dave is barely more ambulatory than Steven ("I'll take my walker on stage, thanks") Tyler. I have no interest in Wolfie. I'd rather watch Hot in Cleveland. When they went back and airbrushed Anthony off of the VH1 and Women and Children First albums on the VH website, it kind of beclowned Eddie. (Who did indeed fire Anthony)http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/fired-van-halen-bassist-i-found-out-on-the-internet-20070904
I'd MUCH rather go see Chickenfoot. Hagar/Satriani/Anthony. (Would have preferred Chad Smith from the Chili Peppers over Aronoff from Mellencamp.)cottrobertsweb.com/Firetalkers-Interview-with-Michael-Anthony-of-Chickenfoot-and-Van-Halen
They'll be at the Fillmore in Detroit in May.
All Satriani was ever missing was a frontman.

There must have been a sense of humor gap.
Sammy and Michael are FUNNY.
Chickenfoot "Soap on a rope."

Eddie and Axl should be sentenced to be in a band together when they get to hell.

Mike was long gone and having fun playing with Sammy by the time Eddie tried to save face by 'firing' him. Sam and Mike had a great rapport during the Sammy years and Mike saw a better deal for the long term with Sam OR by just doing his own thing. That interview pretty much sums it up...VH was sad in 2007 and they're still sad. RIP
Loved both Dave and Sammy, personally. I will definitely be getting tickets for this one!
According to Rolling Stone, they have cancelled Toledo and 30 other dates.
Although I have had reservations about these guys, I'm sorry that it canceled. Not so much for me, but for the current fans and the economic impact.
The article said that they are arguing and fighting like mad. Gee, what a surprise. The egos must be really something to deal with in that band.
I wonder if they can fill the date with the Stray Cats? lol yes, I saw them in concert. Still a fan.
Very disappointed.....will probably never be rescheduled
