With Mother's Day right around the corner, I need to assist my daughter in finding mom a gift. She's hinted that she wants a herb garden for our sunporch. Anyone see a starter kit in their travels that could point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
Herb garden kit

Try Ben Sell's on Dorr St. Mary Machon, the owner has a good herb selection and MIGHT have four packs that have 4 different herbs. The most common are a combination of sweet basil, lavender, thyme, a mint, dill, rosemary or fennel. Sweet basil and lavender are the two most requested herbs in garden centers. If you cant find combos you can easily put together your own. Anderson's also has had a tremendously good herb selection. Buy the plants and buy a 6" pot for each plant plus a small bag of potting soil. Clay pots are better than plastic for two reasons. The porous clay helps to counteract any over watering and the heavier weight keeps the plant stable from blowing over. That's all you need to grow a summers worth of herbs.

Ben Sell's is awesome. I love their bonsai stuff. They have goodies for fairy gardens, too.

Yes, Anderson's sells herbs along with the veggie plants in the garden center. Last year they had quite an extensive selection. Cant say for sure about this year. I was in the rose section yesterday and compared to last year they had really cut back. Herbs are a hot seller.
going to Andersons on Woodville in a bit for some lavender. I'll report back. :)
