Bartley Lofts

I currently live in the warehouse district and have been looking at other condos for quite sometime. Can anyone fill me in on the pros/cons of the Bartley Lofts? I love their location and style, however have heard horror stories about the pool, prices, and condo association in general.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Do you want to rent or buy? Not many rentals in the building, if any, but if you want to buy then First Merit is the only lender that will even give mortgages on these. Freight elevator has been condemed and the pool is not functional. HOA is bankrupt too I believe. Call Tyler Lipinski at 419-261-0789 for more/better info.

The old board was removed due to incompetence. The new board has made major improvements. The association never declared bankruptcy either. if you're looking to rent, Standart is the best option. Rentals are generally discouraged at the Bartley. This is due to owner/occupant guidelines for getting a mortgage loan. If you're looking to buy, there are good deals available. The HOA has everything under control now, including the finances and the pool.

I'm a bit uninformed about what happened with the Bartley Lofts, and it's current state. Anyone care to elaborate?

If the Standart Lofts are indeed full (which is great news), you'd think that'd be a good sign for the Berdan building, no? Hopefully by some miracle that project gets up and running again.

I appreciate your input, but this article was posted back in 2010.

Looking for current tenants (renters/owners) and their personal opinions.

HOA at Bartley is not bankrupt, it has never filed bankruptcy, and it is not in danger of filing bankruptcy. The developers and the HOA are two separate entities.

The previous condo board was a disaster and was removed by the residents. A new board was voted in place by the residents. The new board has taken a fiscally responsible approach, while at the same time improving quality of life issues at The Bartley with a portion of budget savings (i.e. repairs, appearance, and security). They have several improvements planned for the coming summer as the board and residents are committed to fulfilling the original intent of the project, to make it the premier residence in downtown Toledo.

Renting is generally discouraged, are you looking at renting or purchasing? If you'd like more in depth information I'd be happy to share. You won't necessarily get accurate info from Tyler the real estate agent unfortunately.
