Your friend works for the CIA? I'm amazed.
Please consider all jokes and snarky comments about dogs, cats and oriental restaurants made and acknowledged.
I tried the place out several times last week during the lunch rush. If you're eaten up with curiosity you can read about it here (shameless self promotion coming up): Restaurant Review: AMango.
In short, I liked the place. The food is much better than average, the atmosphere is nice and the service is adequate to the job. The best part about the place is the kitchen.
If they want to improve the place they could start by busing the tables as soon as the customer is finished eating and resetting when the customer leaves. Nothing kills an appetite like a stack of dirty dishes. Another thing they could do is switch the dinner music. Some fool put on county western and cranked it up during lunch, and believe me when I say that listening to Bubba Shot the Jukebox while enjoying a nice dish of pad thai is not a good time.
The only real word of warning about AMango are the prices. This is not the most economical place to have lunch.
