I guess this running all over the world trying to bring people back to invest is catching on. The Pittsburgh mayor is doing it now in Vegas.
Pittsburgh's Mayor goes to Vegas to attract investors

Las Vegas seems a little more reasonable to me than a 10 day jaunt through China. At least in a convention setting you could meet several potential investors, not just ass-kiss one for a full week.
The biggest laugh in that article was the mention of some sort of conference of mayors that were going to talk about "rebranding and revitalization"....and one of the mayors is Jean Quan of Oakland....the armpit of the Bay Area...who continues to have several businesses in her town (and City Hall) busted up by the Occupiers.
Yeah, let's listen to her on how to "revitalize and rebrand" a city <snort, chortle>...

Toledo attended this same shopping store convention in Vegas in May multiple times last decade. Jack Ford attended. Carty sent Larry Dillon.

Is that the same Jack Ford that could put a meth addict in a coma after speaking 10 minutes?
Is that the same Larry Dillon that "revitalized" Southwyck to the glorious open field/future Section 8 housing project it is today?
There's a reason why Toledo never got anything out of that (or other) convention(s)--and it isn't because the conventions themselves are wastes of time....
