Dangerous dog treats

Yeah, its rough. I refuse to buy anything food/pet/baby oriented from Walmart due to this. But I know the brands are sold elsewhere too so it's nice to find a list or warning.

Which "they?" WalMart? Government?

Honestly, the only way to crackdown is to not buy cheap crap and give it to your dog (thereby letting it sit on the store's shelves).

I find it rather inconsistent that people who will drive across town to get $$$$ organic, healthy food for themselves have no problem feeding $10/50lbs highly processed food nuggets from a questionable source to their dogs/cats.

It's not like you have to get the $100 a bag food from the vet, but a little research on good pet food will go a long way towards a healthy pet.

Also, I'm not slamming ToledoLatina or anyone else for getting treats for pets--we've all been there thinking "Fido would love this" and given in. I'm talking about the day in, day out feeding that your dog pulls 99% of his/her nutrition from. It should be good food, not that corn-and-grain stuffed garbage that at least 75% of pet food is.

Dog Treats: carrots, green beans, tomatos, sweet potatos, all found in your local fridge. My dog goes nuts over oranges & melon.

My wife used to go out of her way to buy these Chicken Jerky Treats from Petsmart at Spring Meadows. We have 3 dogs and we went through several bags each week. They were packaged by Canyon Creek, a US company that reluctantly admitted that the treats originated in China.

After becoming aware of the issue, we started feeding other treats and the dogs are more peppy and playful than they had ever been.

My wife went into Petsmart and returned the 10 bags we had because they were toxic and the manager didn't care at all. She then wrote to the company and learned that they planned on selling them until the FDA made a ruling on them. As if the FDA has any input in dog treats.

Bad store. Booooo Petsmart.

Make a sign board staple an empty package to it, write on the sign made in china and kills pets, walk back in forth in front of the store.

I bet the manager will care about you getting out the truth about what they are selling for your pets to eat.

How long is it going to take our government - the FDA - to stop this crap from China coming into our country to poison our pets. The article states that the FDA has known since 2007, but our government let's these treats stay on the shelves to be bought by unsuspecting pet owners. Our pets can't tell us when something makes them sick, which makes this even more insidious. Thanks to ABC News for getting the info out there!
