At least I think it was called Ray's. Its the one in front of Taylor Kia, a tiny little island surrounded by the dealership. I got my hair cut there a few years ago, and Ray told me he had been in that same location since before the interstate was built. He also told me that he had refused to be bought out by the dealership, although they had offered him many times.
Anybody know what happened?

good for ray - sounds like he got his cake and edith too; worked his location... got good cash when he wanted to move on. bet he cut the hair of taylor employees too. nice work figuring the sale date and address are the same gordon! i wouldn't mourn the building... it was not suitable for much.
"rice burner"?! cars are our most public purchase so the hypocrits who want to say "unemployed? keep driving foreign" feel they can get away with it - funny how often you see those stickers at walmart - i'm sure their houses, like everyone else's, are packed with vizio and samsung stuff.
and ford just discontinued the ranger, their only small affordable truck. the cheapest smallest f-150 starts at $25k

The last I looked, Taylor's automobiles were powered by gasoline. Are we talking about the flux capacitor option?

Out of the 4 'Models' that they use the top levels of NASCAR ( supposedly focuses on using 'all American cars') 3 of the production versions are produced out of the US. The one car that isn't? Is the Toyota Camry. Chevys and Dodges are made in Canada, and Ford's car is assembled in Mexico. The US version of the Camry is made in Georgetown Kentucky. Not to mention, the just announced Chevy they will use starting next year will be a rebadged Holden Commodore, imported from Austria.

So, not to continue the hijacking of this thread, but... I wonder how a 100% American-made car would sell here. Especially if they focused on it being as fuel-efficient as possible, you'd be getting high marks from both the pro-American and pro-environment crowds.
I find it especially funny when I see those "......Keep buying foreign" stickers on Chrysler products.
Back to Ray's...
Never went there, but isn't it kind of a dream scenario. You buy a piece of property, work there all your life, have people clamoring to pay you a fairly sizable amount, well above what you paid for the land 40-50 years ago...then retire decently well off (at least not having so many of the worries typical retirees do regarding money?
