Toledoblade.com reported a victim in Monroe MI, who was found bleeding from the head on the porch, was taken to St. V's in Toledo where he died. There's a Monroe Mercy Hospital on N. Macomb Street a few blocks away, thus it seems highly irregular that they would transport the victim 35 miles to Toledo.
Victim of foul play

St Vs was probably better for trauma. They take people to different hospitals based on the problem. Can't Imagine 15 minutes extra minutes in an ambulance going to a better hospital could equal foul play?
i had a family taken to monroe mercy after he suffered a head injury in a fall. he was then promptly put on a lifeflight to toledo hospital.
Mercy Memorial isn't a trauma center. The most they'd do with a trauma patient is stabilize and transfer to St V's or Toledo. I know St V's gets a lot of trauma patients from Monroe.
If they took the patient directly to V's, I'm guessing it would have been to much of a delay to go to Mercy Memorial first.
upso, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I meant the victim was already a victim of foul play when he was found on the porch up in Monroe. I'm sure the paramedics and the ER staff at St. V's did everything they could in an attempt to save him.

So then what's the point of this thread?

That Mercy Memorial is just a really big quick care clinic.

The OP found it to be highly irregular.
I think maybe it was sort of regular.
Memorial, is the key word there.
