Another one bites the dust downtown...part 2.

Ok, so you guys get your wish.

Instead of bumping the 300+ post thread here is part 2.

As of June 14th, Club 329 on Huron, near the Huntington center, is out of business. The place has been dead since it reopened as 329.

Since all the hoopla started at the Huntington Center, this is at least 3x a bar has taken a dive at that location. Maybe it's time to realize, at least for now, that part of downtown sucks.

You are such an amazing advocate to the community. Have you really contributed anything besides bitching and sharing your miserable existence with the rest on this forum? What solution would you recommend to assisting with downtown development?

Its great an all to bitch about things not working out consistently, but it gets old. Of course this is coming from someone whose current city went through the same thing 20 years ago but instead decided to reinvest in quality of life projects and work to turn the attitude around...now celebrating enjoying the NBA Finals being in town (regardless of tonight's outcome).

Sooner, it might matter if I cared what you thought about me. Fortunately, I don't. Since it bothers you so much, and you already knew the topic was going to disturb you, why did you open the thread?

I've made several posts what are good ideas for Toledo...search the archives for them instead of making an ignorant post about about me, a person you have never met.

Diva had one heck of a run in that particular location, all things considered.

6th you are kinda the resident bummer dude though. But there is so much that is done around town that can be called into question its easy to see why anyone would be pessimistic on thing in Toledo.

Diva was doing great business-wise... at least every time I was in there it was busy. And I was there pretty often for food, drinks, or parties upstairs.

Diva may have done great at times when it was around. If Club 329 had a great business, that's news to me and what my eyes saw there.

There are many locations around town that seem to have a jinx. One that comes to mind for me is the place on Dussel and Holland Perrysburg. It has had many different businesses over many years. It started out as a car dealership and wound being many different Restaurants, micro brewery and also a strip club. The last restaurant being Ambrosia. Now the place is vacant. These closings are not unique to just downtown Toledo. One only has to look at the Reynolds road corridor for proof of this. There is a thread mentioning that area and I am amazed at how many places have closed along that road. Now I am waiting for someone to tell me this thread is about downtown Toledo and not Maumee or south Toledo.Game on!

Why is everyone so hard on 6th? I think he is stating the obvious. ESP on N Huron.

A Business Week study in Columbus, OH showed one in four restaurants fail in the 1st year why does anyone think downtown Toledo would be different. I think the reason people get mad at 6th floor is the tone he/she takes often sounds like he find's joy in others failure. No one should be happy to see someones hard earned money and dreams become another number to support a statistic.

Veritas, additionally a lot of Toledoans hard-earned money has been wasted by politicians throwing endless amounts of money to support downtown. Meanwhile, many other parts of the city have been ignored, and the roads are horrendous.

No idea if Club 329 was doing good... I never went.

I knew a couple people who went to their opening party event and nobody had anything good to say about it. I'm not surprised they closed.

Yes Toledo politicians throw tons of money away i agree with that 100% but I don't think 329 received any government money.
