i need to have a couple passport photos taken, any suggestions where i can get it done?

The last time we renewed in 2007 we had them taken at Sears on Central Avenue (Westgate). $16.00 each 5 years ago.

Costco will do it on the spot. If you are a AAA member, I think they also do passport photos.
We did ours right at the post office.

Walgreens does them. $5-6 for a set.

Make sure you know the rules for passport photos before you get 'em taken.
Biggest change--you can't smile for the photo. Has to be a "neutral" facial expression. It's actually a little bit difficult to be "neutral" when in 99.999999% of the pictures you pose for, the instinct is to smile :)

Oldhometown - weird, I just got my passport renewed about six months ago and I smiled in it and they accepted it. I had mine done at the BMV.

Who knows. My passport doesn't flip until 2015 and I'm smiling in it. I don't think it's a make-or-break thing yet. But it is posted on the State Department website, so better to be aware.
