Have an opportunity for one of those half off coupons... Anyone ever heard of this place?
Anneliese's German American Restaurant

answered my own question - this write up is good enough for me to give it a try...
Makes me think of G.A.F. having a hard time waiting for good kraut, wurst, potato salad, and pickled eggs.

Yay! Thanks for letting us know -- we'll go there ASAP.
Wondering what "ASAP" is auf deutsch ...

You'll definitely need the coupons ... we found Anneliese's to be fairly expensive. They were out of two of the four German entrees. Side dishes are not German, other than the red cabbage (which was very tasty). No kraut, no potato salad, no potato pancakes. A turkey sandwich is $9. The wienerschnitzel came cooked in two small, kind of rubbery pieces.
We probably won't go back. The place was dead at dinnertime on a Saturday night. And the bar staff was playing a selection of mournful pop music, way too loud for the empty dining room. It was also inexplicably dark (with a red stripe on the floor to warn about uneven surfaces ... in the DARK).
When I'm jonesing for some German food, I'll go to Southbriar or to the festival.
