Remember the hundreds of news articles, news-itorials and editorials the Blade wrote against the demolition of the Seneca County courthouse? ? ? They lost that battle completely and I would think that public humiliation from that loss should have served as a formal notice that the Blade's sphere of influence stops at their front door.
I recently laughed out loud as the Blade Editorial Board had the nerve to write an editorial to urgently invoke the King of Saudi Arabia to get involved in the destruction of old temples in Timbuktu, Mali. (Saudi Arabia is separated from Mali by a sea and about 2,000 miles of various countries.)

With all the issues and problems facing our City, our State and our Country, Blade editors actually devoted ink to writing about some temples being torn down in Timbuktu. Timbuktu, is 5,000 miles away from Ohio !!!! If the city of Timbuktu or for that matter, the entire country of Mali would collapse into itself and be obliterated in a ball of flame, the event would likely not affect Toledoans at all.
I hope the Saudi King has the good sense not to get involved in distant issues that are clearly none of his business. If only the Blade Editors would learn from him.
I wonder if we'll soon get a news story about the treatment of stray dogs at the dog pound in Kathmandu, or maybe about a proposed demolition of a courthouse in Madagascar.
Ha ha ha.
