I NEVER REMEMBER SAYING I'D BE FRIENDS W/ THEM. THEY MAY BE FINE PEOPLE BUT I DON'T KNOW THEM OR ANY OF THE PEOPLE IN THERE PICTURES, MUCH LESS........RICARDO

Start with caps lock. Work up to unfriending.

Go to your Friends page.
Hover over the name of each person you want to get rid of.
Hover over the Friends button the popup screen.
Select "Unfriend" from the new popup screen that appears.

I thought you just used permanent marker to cross out the people you want to unfriend. This probably explains why I cannot see anything on my computer screen.

The best and most effective way to get rid of the unknown people.... poke your eyes out. Oh wait, that makes everyone unknown.
Best way to make them a known person is to take them out for a few drinks... and see what happens.
