Students will enter the robot in the 2008 first robotic competition. The robotic team has won national and regional competitions in the past, so they have high expectations for the future.

In the interest of science, I would say this a remote controlled device, not a robot with its own ability to sense and manipulate it's environment.
How are we going to have robot overlords if we have to always man the joysticks? :)
Hope they do well. I would dress the robot as the girl from weird science, because marketing and some other 3 letter word seem to sell...even to people of the scientific cloth.
At what point does it take on Biohazard?
I kid, I kid. Robotics has always been really interesting to me, simply because I'm a geek, yet I don't know the first thing about it. Good show, guys!
