Nice Car Company in Ottawa Lake Michigan

Stopped at the Nice Car Company over the weekend and bought a great used car at a very fair price. Someone on this site recommended them awhile back and I decided to try them out. The sales staff was very friendly, and they had a great selection of nice, used cars. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a used car.

6880 Memorial Hwy (Memorial Highway is Main Street in Sylvania) or take US 23 to Exit 1 for Sterns Rd then left on Sterns and Left at Memorial Hwy. They are right by the huge silos.
All the cars are unlocked and easy to look at, no pressure to buy or haggle. Just a nice experience in what I normally dread.

I bought a car from them in 1987 and felt thoroughly cheated. The brakes broke within the week and they refused to fix them. Other problems developed shortly after that and the same thing. Would not help me out one bit. Within a year and a half the care blew a head gasket and died. Would never buy from them again.

I too had an excellent experience. We purchased a low-mileage 2008 Mustang a few months ago; my wife always dreamed of owning a convertible Mustang:

Extremely friendly, absolutely no pressure tactics, and the showroom is filled with low-mileage quality vehicles. Many are off-lease executive cars and promotional vehicles; ours had 4K miles and was just about brand new for less than half the cost of a 2012 with similar features. Also: they do not haggle or use pricing gimmicks or hidden costs, and they price the cars fairly (ours was right around Blue Book, and less than quite a few comparable cars I saw at other dealers or by private sellers). I also liked that this was a small family business, and one person handled everything. I dislike going to a bigger dealer and getting shuffled around between 3-4 different people.

I will return to Nice Car Company when I am in the market for a quality used car.

I was debating between a 2008 Sebring Convertible and a 2008 Mustang convertible. Purchased the Dark Candy Apple Red Mustang and I LOVE IT!:)

Although I've never dealt with them, I know several people who absolutely cannot speak high enough about the Nice Car Company both in terms of their staff and the selection of vehicles they offer. My gripe is that that selection is so limited that they've never had anything that interests me.

I think between myself, my wife and my mother we've gotten 4 from them. all very good deals. I'd go back any time.

Wouldn't warranty a head gasket after a year and a half? And they survived another 25 years? Astounding.

I've had two experiences with them -- one good, the other not.

We bought one car, at what we felt (and Kelly, Edmunds, etc. confirmed) was a fair price, and it performed satisfactorily for several years.

We found another car we were interested in last year. Had it inspected by our mechanic (as was also done on first car we bought from them). Mechanic found serious engine issue. Returned car to Nice Car Company and, when they asked why we were no longer interested in the car, told them. Salesman shrugged, said, "Oh, yeah? Hmmmm," and walked away.

I was surprised by that response. Guess I expected them to ask if we'd still be interested if they repaired the problem, but that option wasn't of any apparent interest to them. Good luck to whomever eventually bought that thing...

justread, excuse me, but I don't believe I said they should have. I am just commenting on the fact that my experience with them from beginning to end was awful. Take it for what it is worth.
