Grande Plaza Downtown

Okay- going to be partying downtwon Saturday night at bars and then on the boat... my girlfriend and I are debating on getting a hotel or driving home. I know if we get a cab to get home it will be expensive, and then my car stuck downtwon and have to get back Sunday get it.

I can get a room at the Grand Plaza at $89 which isn't too bad... but not sure what to do

Are you concerned that the hotel won't be "nice enough" or just about staying downtown in general?

I only ask because I think there's a difference in the level of quality one might want for a hotel room that you'll be lingering in vs. one where you're looking to crash after a night of drinking/partying.

Then again, I'm the kind of person who looks for a mid-priced bargain in Vegas vs. the "best" hotels, because I'm only going to be in the room for a few hours a day to crash anyhow. LOL

Yes... just sometihng to mainly crash in... $100 for one night sure beats a DUI ... etc....

Definitely!

I think you should be fine.

I haven't been in that hotel since it used to be the Wyndham, so I don't have any recent personal experience. However, there was a recent Blade write up about the various downtown hotels.

The article was mostly unflattering, because it was written from the perspective of looking for 4-star accomodations for business executive types. But I don't recall reading anything that would sound alarming from a "need a decent place to crash after a night of drinking" perspective.

I'll be interested to hear your feedback. I've never stayed there but I've stayed at the Park Inn a couple times in the last few years and it leaves a lot to be desired. I've heard the Grande Plaza is better.
