I don't know if everyone else is aware, but apparently movies at any of the local Rave theaters are $5 on Tuesday. Any time, even the new releases. (There may be an extra charge for 3D, I'm not sure?)
Apparently it has been going on for awhile, but I just discovered it recently.
I think there might even be some discounts on popcorn as well, but I'm not positive on all the details.
They have that "free refill" policy on the supersized popcorn and soft drinks. I laugh, though, because my wife and I are getting to the point where finishing just one moderate-sized popcorn bucket is a chore.
We have been concession scofflaws of late, bringing with us bottled water and occasionally boxes of candy. The price differential between retail and Rave is getting to be eye-popping; the last time we went without external treats we paid something like $23 for popcorn, drinks, and a box of candy.
It's awesome! You're better off going to Levis Commons or Fallen Timbers though because the mall gets pretty crowded on Tuesdays.
You do have to pay the upcharge for 3D movies (I believe it's $3). I don't believe that there is any discount on the popcorn, but it's easier to choke down the price when you're paying $5 for the movie.
This is great to know! Thanks! We very, very rarely make it out to see a first-run film, but this pricing would make it worth it!
Yup, it's been like this since it was owned by the previous owners. When Rave took over they moved it to Wednesdays but didn't publicise it. Looks like they're back to Tuesdays which is nice, because Wednesday is the drive-in $5 special :)
There is a $3 upcharge for 3D, so $8. They did/may still have specials for a small pop/popcorn bundle as well. Check the door or ticket booth they usually say.
I just wish Rave would continue the tradition of showing classic horror movies in October like National Cinema use to do. http://www.attackofthebmovies.com/bypass/ was good times.
Yeah, they kept it quiet for a while but just today I saw a billboard advertising the $5 Tuesdays at any Rave. I'm so glad! Too bad I didn't catch Men in Black 3 while it was cheap ... :-(
I think MIB III is over at the Maumee indoor...
I have a friend that's been hauling her popcorn bucket around for almost a year for those free refills. After that amount of time the bucket isn't even round anymore. Last time we went to the movies I asked her to swap it out for one of the lesser used ones sitting near the garbage. You'd think I was asking her to cut off her hands.
We just went to see the new Batman tonight at the mall and was pretty shocked at how full it was. We had to sit in the far front (2nd row) because that was the only place 3 seats in a row were left. This was 5-10 minutes before the movie even started, at 6:15 PM no less. I'll make sure to get in earlier next time.
