Well it's that time of the year again. After winning the Tri-State Collegiate Hockey league last year the University of Toledo hockey team looks to come back strong while only graduating one senior. With much success last season the team hopes to earn it’s first regional playoff bid since their last national championship in 1992.
Throughout the season the University of Toledo hockey team puts together many fundraisers for local charities. As many of you may or may not know, Cystic Fibrosis is one of the longest and biggest charity events of the year. This year will be the fourth year for the event, and to date has raised over $7,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
This year the game will be played against Bowling Green State University on Saturday October 27th at 8:00pm at Team Toledo Ice House on Alexis Road. We took in a lot of your input from last year and tried to make it fit around the Toledo Walleye, Detroit Red Wings, NFL, and NCAA schedules. While our organization has taken the initiative to set up and organize this event, we could still use your help in promoting it.

My name is Joseph Phillips. In 2004 my wife, Barbara Phillips, started Team Barb, a group of friends who raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. When barb was born she was diagnosed with CF, a disease that affects about 70,000 people a year. Most people aren’t expected to live past their mid thirties. www.cff.org
In February of 2010 Team Barb, and the University of Toledo hockey team began “Score A Goal For CF”. The fundraiser includes a UT Hockey game, Raffles, Door Prizes, and Various Activities. Money earned from the event goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Barb passed away in May 2011 at the age of 43. In October we will be having our fourth annual “Score A Goal For CF”. Any donations, certificates, or items you would be willing to donate would help us make this event successful. We appreciate your time and consideration in this matter and hope .
