So sorry. Should have posted the source. The source is an article in today's (Sunday, February 17, 2008) Blade. The article begins on page one of the first section. The list is on page 3. Todd Repass is listed as a candidate for Springfield 21.

I called the Republican office today and they say they don't have the capability to run criminal background checks. Also that anyone can just show up and apply. It is unbelievable that this guy has the nerve to run. check the court documents. There are items on there from **July 2007***.

If I understand correctly, you have "Todd" and "Repass" from the Blade and have used that to match to court docs. However, the court docs also give you "Alan" as a middle name and 6521 Cornwall Ct., Sylvania, OH 43560 as an address.

So if you are calling the party office, rather than asking about background checks, did you first ask for additional information to match these other pieces (ie, middle name and/or address)?

If true, how on earth did this happen?

At least in terms of recent history, the Democrat party has made it a specific policy stance to broaden the ability of convicted criminals to participate in the political process including eligibility for both voting and holding office. I have no idea what the current law is, but the party uses organizations such as the ACLU and the Brennan Center for Justice in these efforts.

I am sorry for bringing up a dead topic but I am greatly interested in the results of what people found out about this guy. Going by the name, the address, Repass Holdings Inc., and horse gambling this is the same guy who owes me and a few other of his employees quite a bit of money. Also, this topic started about the same time that my boss and I quit because this guy was not paying his employees. I had a complaint in with the Ohio DOL but after a few months of no contact from them I am trying to figure out what happened with that. So please, any findings on this subject would be fantastic.

Todd Repass, Holland resident and alleged software developer, has filed for bankruptcy on over two million dollars of debt. His creditors meeting was this morning. He said he had a list of creditors who were "investors" in his software development efforts, some to the tune of $200,000 each. These investors did not receive anything in return as collateral. Ha!
