I just got back from the Hungarian festival. It seems to have gotten a lot smaller than previous years. The main drag was blocked off as usual, but it took up only four or five blocks -maybe. Two blocks had the usual food vendors and the others contained fru-fru, clothing, cookbooks, etc. I remember years ago when the festival stretched all the way from Tony Packo's down to that bar way down the end where Consaul makes a bend. I think even that bar is closed or maybe it's something else.
It kind of looks like the festival is going the same route as the Polish one on Lagrange has. In a few years, we'll just talk about it in past tense. We still have the Greek fest though.
Three letters.... G...A...F!
pete, that's a bummer
i wasn't able to make it out this year due to work obligations
but i have a friend involved with planning and hadn't heard about cut-backs
did you go last year? if so, how did it compare?
Upso, I was there maybe two or three years ago and it was a lot bigger. Maybe Saturday was better than today, but I know Consaul where it was blocked off a few years ago was a lot shorter today than when I was there last.
Pretty sure it's just because it's two days now. If you drink too much on Saturday night...
"Three letters.... G...A...F!"
Amen to that! Can't wait.
Made it down around 6PM last night and the crowd was a lot less than in previous years.....very disappointing. People said the Saturday night crowd was good and they will continue as a two day event. Weather was perfect, can't blame that for poor attendance..........GAF...see you Friday.
This was my first year going and I greatly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the belly dancer show was interesting.
GAF!!! TATER PANCAKES!!!!!!!!
BEEER!!
