Too small, they had to throw him back.

Drunk suicide if I remember right. Think he left a note in his car.

There has been no follow up.
His name was Mr. Brennan.
A note was NOT found in his car, which was parked and locked. All of his belongings were on his person. (Watch, rings, etc.)

He spoke to his wife around 5pm. He didn't show any signs of a problem during that call. He was pulled out of the river around 8pm. He had just had dinner and yes, drinks. The amount of alcohol was not measured at the scene.

Law enforcement did not rule out accidental at the time of the incident. Dr. Barnett has not issued a ruling on cause of death pending toxicology results. She was, however.. quite clear that a note was not found. I would expect the coroners report to be released in a few more weeks.

Thanks JR, I didn't hear anything about a note or suicide.
I'll have to follow up in a few weeks. Crazy!

I had tried to follow it myself. Just seemed so odd.

It may well have been a suicide. If it was, it seems like a snap decision.

I'd just hate to have had the guy fall in and then call it intentional.

My bad then. I could have sworn I read that he had business/financial problems and they found a note. I better do more research before replying next time.

I read that he had been treated for depression in the recent past, but had shown no indication of distress at the time of his death. Maybe that's what you recalled Erin... the past depression that was reported.
For some reason, maybe same as you, I picked up on that story. It was compelling. Who knows what happened. I feel for the family for their loss, and also hope that they get peace from a sense of closure if at all possible. If we wonder... imagine how they wonder.
