I've been a patient of Dr. James Lange, on Monroe St. since 1967. I called for an appointment, and his phone is disconnected, and I see his office is up for sale. Does anyone know where his patients were referred to, or if he just up and quit? Thanks.

I suppose it's a reasonable assumption that he retired, since he is 74 years old. (Per the dental license verification screen His license is still listed as active, but he could just be waiting for it to expire on it's own in 12/2013.)
Are you looking to stay in the same part of town? We use Marker & McGowan over on Heatherdowns and are happy with them.
I think there was a recent TT thread about dentists...I'll have to poke around for it.
He merged his practice with Dr. Johanssen 4333 Monroe, just across the street, about 9 moths be retiring.

Marker and McGowen - Dr McGowan is a great dentist.
Most everyone LOVES their dentist - and that's a good thing. How miserable would it be to go to one you don't like?
That being said, I also love my dentist so I'll put in a shameless plug for him. Dr. Charles Latham on Alexis Rd. next to Alexis Gardens.
I'd been going to a dentist in Pt. Place for quite some time - mostly because he was close to home and convenient. While I didn't hate him, I was never really that pleased with the care I received. Always felt like his practice was nothing more than a production line - all geared to exhaust everyone's annual dental benefit.
I began going to Dr. Latham when I had my dad at Alexis Gardens. It was much easier to take my dad next door as opposed to cross town so I began to schedule our appointments together.
I can't make enough great comments to express how pleased I was with the treatment they provided to my dad and, subsequently me. Though my dad is gone now, I've continued to go to Dr. Latham because I'm just that pleased with his practice and everyone in it.
/end of shameless plug
It's odd that you didn't receive any calls or mailings.
Repeating the post I already made:
Dr. Ned Hein
3900 Sunforest Ct, Ste 232
Toledo, OH 43623
Dr. Carl Marion
2814 West Central Avenue
Toledo, OH 43606
Both are outstanding.
My thanks to Foodie for his recommendation. I live very close to Dr. Charles Latham's office on Alexis.
I've been to Carl Marion before, and he is good. But he only does endodontics (root canals, etc.) not general dentistry.
Dental Health associates way out on Sylvania Ave is our family dentist. It's a bit of of a drive for us, but they are great and use the latest technology.
I'll throw out one negative review of a dentist, Dr. Connelly on Secor Rd near Alexis. Started seeing him about 10 years ago when I had an emergecy and wish I would have paid attention to my gut instinct after that... Questionable billing and pushing unnecessary procedures leaves a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended).
On that note, my wife and I use Dental Works in Oregon. They're nice, have some evening hours, and accept my funky insurance.
