Yep. They are getting a lot of mileage out of their recorded announcement. They should have tested the new format out a bit more before turning it loose.

Will we lose any incoming messages during the outage or will they just be delayed? I receive sales orders via email.

Don't know the "for sure" answer to that one Trilby. However, assuming Buckeye's system works like most, your e-mails should be stored on their servers and delivered to you once they're back online and you log in.

Trilby: really depends if the servers are completely offline, then the emails will bounce back to the original sender. If they are online just not accepting POP/IMAP connections they should receive and store till your next login.

To many variables to give a definitive answer.

Thanks Foodie & INeedCoffee. Sounds like they won't be lost, just delayed or re-sent if returned. I was worried that they might be lost in the clouds.

A friend has been having issues with her email, if the mailshield (scanner) is turned on in Avast antivirus her connection with Buckeye fails, turn it off and it comes through fine. I assume its on their end because hooking it up to my network (charter cable) it downloads her email fine with mailshield turned on. I thought it pretty weird that her mail would route through Charter's servers but it did.

I'll be switching to another email service in the next few days. This is happening too often with Buckeye, wish they had left well enough alone. I never lost any mail in these down times, just not happy with this new service.
