New Bill collecter method

I just thought i would share this, while at work i received a phone call from a lady claiming that she was with FTD and had an Edible Arrangement to deliver and wanted to confirm that this person would be in the office all day. When i told them that that person didn't work here, she hung up on me.

Nothing tops what the City of Toledo does with its income taxes. About 12 years ago I was living in Toledo but working in Michigan, and I failed to notice the Michigan employer was not taking out Toledo taxes. About three months after I filed my federal return for that year I received a notice from Toledo about the unpaid taxes (a couple hundred dollars). I did not jump right away to take care of it, and maybe a month later a Toledo Police officer showed up at my door with a tax bill.

I was incensed (and admittedly a bit flustered) at what I considered to be both a waste of taxpayer money and subtle intimidation by the city to harass me over a relatively small amount of money that I intended to pay. Heck, even the much feared IRS usually sends their revenue agents in street clothes and non-descrepit Chryslers (unless you are a mobster or drug lord or WA Moncrief or something): Toledo, though, sent a uniformed cop with a marked cruiser, no doubt an attempt to embarrass and/or pressure people into paying up.

I thought about being definat and dragging out the payment over as long as possible, but in the end I figured I did not need the hassle of more visits by jack-booted tax collectors, so I paid the amount in full.

Wow. They really put the "serve" in "protect and serve." Unbelievable. No seriously, if you weren't a credible poster I would say no way.

A minority could have had a field day with that.

I would have taken the tax bill from the officer and then offered him/her a tip. When they acted surprised, I would have explained that I am used to the pizza boy, so I wasn't sure what the protocal was for when the city used the police officers as errand boys on civil issues. I may have asked if he had time to mow my lawn for an extra 20.

I just answered a call from someone wanting to help me with my credit card rate.I first asked him to repeat his name and company he represented.
Then as he spoke I kept saying "What?"I told him there was too much noise on his end that I was having a hard time hearing him.He then muffled his phone and he asked me if I could hear him better.I said yes and he went on about lowering my interest rate on my cards.I told him that I was responsible for any debt that I may have and that I had never heard of his company or him and that I didn't want or need any of his help.He then responded with he was only trying to help me.I then said now he was the one that was hard of hearing and told him again that I didn't want his help.I then finally hung up on him.I could tell I was getting him riled up.
