Anyone here into Chess? I would love to be in a chess club, but last I checked the local Toledo club kinda dissolved when Brewed Awakenings went down a few years back.
The club seems to be stringing along but never meets for casual play, and exist only for FIDE tournaments. So wondering if maybe there are other clubs around here that likes to play casually.

I thought I remembered reading about an all ages club on Wednesday evenings at Black Kite.
(My son would love to learn to play, but Wednesday evenings aren't the best for a kid still in school.)
They meet Fridays at 7:00 p.m. at the Biggby's (upstairs) near Secor and Central.

Is this the club you're talking about? If so, I got the impression they're quite active, and they do meet for casual play.
