National Weather Service statement at 3:12 p.m. Mon, Feb 25, 2008 :
Low pressure will move up the Ohio Valley tonight and Tuesday morning. Precipitation associated with this low will spread into Northwest Ohio this evening and into north central Ohio by midnight. It appears temperatures will remain cold enough for mostly snow during this event. It is possible that some freezing rain could briefly mix with the snow late tonight or Tuesday morning south of a Findlay to Mansfield to Ashland line. Little if any ice accumulation is expected.
Snow accumulations by daybreak Tuesday will be 1 to 2 inches along the I-75 corridor with an inch of accumulation as far east as I-71. Another 4 to 6 inches of accumulation is expected during the day Tuesday... with another inch or so possible by the time the snow winds down Tuesday evening. Storm totals of 6 to 9 inches are possible over the area. Winds will begin to increase Tuesday afternoon and will cause blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Storm Warning is issued when severe winter weather is expected. Heavy snow and/or ice will cause hazardous driving conditions. If you will be traveling in the warning area you should choose an alternate Route if possible, or you should use extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
