We are looking at somewhere to grab dinner tonight that's different and somewhere we haven't been. What's this place like?
I hear good/bad things about it.
Thanks!

The pizza is unique and definitely worth a try. I generally opt for a simple medium or large sausage and pepperoni pizza cooked crisp.
Other favorites are the spinach pie dinner and the large or medium gyro appetizer which is basically gyro meat with some sauteed onions, tomato, lemon and gyro sauce.
The decor is old fashioned - the food that I enjoy is consistently good. Another thing I notice is that I do not recall every having a coupon for J & G's in the Val Pak or other circulars. It seems like the best places around generally do not have to discount frequently. J & G's is usually very busy when you combine take out with dine in volume and have been since I started going 12 years ago or so.

i would double up on danneskjold's post - i have not heard the negatives that you apparently have. i know dozens of people who go there regularly. if i lived closer i would be there a lot.

I was just curious :) I think we shall give it a try tonight!
I live only about 5 minutes away and love it. Never heard any bad things about it.

Maybe next time...we went and it had a long wait so we decided we would just settle somewhere else and try to go earlier next time.
There's always a wait. The food is very good, the service is a crap shoot and you've seen the atmosphere. I like the place, but I only go there to get take out due to the long line.
I live nearby and I can attest that there is a wait nearly every day that they are open.
Almost everyone I know absolutely loves their pizza; personally I don't care for it. Papa G's (formerly Pappouli's) down Main St in the Southbriar plaza has similar style pizza but is much better IMO. However, I think that J&G's does a great job with the other items on the menu. I frequently get the Greek salad to go and they put nearly a half pound brick of feta on top.

I've been going there since I was a kid and highly recommend it. There's something about their dough/sauce/cheese combination that makes their pizza incredibly tasty. Gyros and salads are also exceptional. Winning recipes all around.
