Toledo Talk

Reminder: Go vote today!

Please go and vote today. I do not care what party you vote for, the important thing is that you vote. The rest of the world watches our elections with envy. Though our system is flawed, it still is the best in the world.

Vote. People died for your right to do so.

I got to the polls at about 6:20 am and when they opened the doors it only took about ten minutes to vote.I think I spent about twenty minutes total. That was much better than what I saw for the early voting lines on Summit Street.I am glad I waited until today to vote.I heard that some people had to wait several hours for the early voting.

^^ again, why the hell do we need a touch-screen machine to vote on? Marking an X in the box is too hard?

The Blade says "memory card problems" screwed over people in Michigan today. REALLY?

I just finished voting. The whole process from start to finish took under 10 mins.

I voted today. Was standing in line getting very very angry. The woman in front of me had her License with her old address, her voter registration card with her new address, her information was in both the "Check ID" line and the "Signature" line but the woman was making her do a provisional ballot. That upset me but I had the same problem, new address but not new on my license, just on my voter registration card. Luckily the woman working the provisional table realized something was wrong and questioned other workers about it. And they brought that back to the first poll worker who denied the woman to vote a normal ballot and she was allowed to vote. Next came me with the same issue but because someone else was on top of it, I was able vote regularly. Whew!!! I was relaxed and at ease to finally cast my ballot.

I do not care if you vote Romney or Obama... or any other person on the ballot as long as you VOTE!!! For either way, whom ever wins..Mitt or Barack, they will be MY President!!!!

Our voting location is Blessed Sacrament. My wife voted at about 8:15 a.m., and she reported no line. I voted a while later, and I experienced the same thing. Most of the 14 or so machines were in use, but I was in and out of the building in eight minutes.

We vote in Pburg at an elementary school where 2 precicnts share the same room. At about 7:45 we arrived and there were only 3-4 people ahead of us in line. The other precinct however had well over 100 people in line!

We felt like we were using the Fast Pass at Cedar Point!!

Waited 25+ minutes in south Toledo this morning. They could have used twice as many machines (they only had 5) and an additional two poll workers.

Mr. Gamegrrl and I have exercised our right to vote. Yay! I always feel great after I've voted.

We vote at a church in the Old West End. No wait, to speak of.

I am curious though: There were a lot of people congregated in the lobby area, where they had baked goods and such for sale. Is that typical for all polling places?

I also vote in an elementary school in the 'burg. Two precincts in the same location. Wife and I arrived at 6:30 and we had to wait about 30 minutes.

Yeah - I've seen that during all the times I've voted in the Old West End... but my polling location is the Kent Library. The baked goods are outside the polling room.

I have seen the bake sales at two different polling locations - one at a church and the other a UAW hall.

Voted at 10am in the south end... pretty much got in, voted and got out but there was a line forming after I finished... and there was a wonderful bake sale to benefit Special Olympics...

Speaking of voting. My uncle was a life long conservative. He voted the GOP ticket right up until he died in Chicago. He has voted democrat ever since.

Ok... Kent Library has some great cake.

And not much of a wait to speak of. We were in and out.

No waiting at the Eleanor Kahle sr center at Willys park. 10 machines with only 2 voters about 1130 am.
A few people walked in as I was browsing the baked goods. Those ladies got $3.50 out of me and I got some sweet treats!

I'm in Sylvania Township. There was a line at 11:30 this morning, I estimate about a 10 minute wait. I didn't count the number of machines, but judging by the conversation around me I'd say most people were Republicans.

I vote at Kent too. Went over my lunch break; waited 20 minutes beginning to end, no problems. This was my first Ohio election so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Very diverse neighborhood, so I'm not sure what the vote breakdowns might be - everyone in line around me seemed to be Democratic.

There was a reporter/photographer pair there from the Blade, and lots of people outside supporting the various levies and party balloting.

Just went in Oregon. Was about a 30 minute wait, and one of the ladies there said it was relatively dead compared to this morning. So seems like people did come out to vote :)

I don't have cable, anyone know of any online streaming news sites? Digging around CNN, MSNBC, Fox but no streaming service yet.

Anxious to follow the results as they come in.

May not be Toledo-centric. But I am ANXIOUS to see the Puerto Rico vote. The passed the first stage of voting, and if it passes again TODAY.. we will have a 51st state. But noone is covering it.
