Steakhouse recommendations?

Outside of our two go-to joints- Mancy's and Cousino's......any other steakhouses to reccommend (in the metro area)? Taking wifey out for her birthday........

Not a steak house but Rose & Thistle in downtown Pburg is awesome.

Final Cut at the casino, hands down. If you can afford it, it's worth every penny.

Have to agree with Dell. Took the wife there for our Anniversary in Sept. Best steak I've had in a long time except the ones I make myself at home.

I had a steak once at Mac & Tong's, and very much enjoyed it

Ahmed's on Alexis. I've never had a bad meal there.

Mac & Tong's.

Now, keep in mind, beef prices are sky-high and quality is way down because of 2 years of drought in the primary ranching areas.

If cost is a concern, Ahmed's and Shorty's both cook very good steaks. Shorty's is my go-to for steaks anymore over the various national chains.

I've heard good things about the steaks at the Oregon Inn on Bayshore. I was told it was on par with Cousino's.

For the pricy side, Final Cut at the casino or Rockwell's downtown (or of course Mancy's).

Rose & thistle has the best steak I've had in a REALLY long time. I'll also second mac & tongs.

I'd go to Rose and Thistle if I wanted fine dining and providing cost is not a factor. Here it is:
203 Louisiana Avenue
Perrysburg, OH 43551
(419) 874-3947
Rose and Thistle

My second choice is Mac and Tong's Place.

I've not been there yet. In my mind, I pictured Ruth Chris when people described it. I go to Indianapolis once in a while for work, and try to get to Ruth Chris there when I can. I hope that Final Cut can be a local substitute.

Local in proximity of course. I should have said "closer substitute."

Angelos Northwood Villa has the best Steak..well did..haven't been there in a few years!

If you're going to the Northwood Villa, who cares about steak? They could be serving up Ponderosa there, and the cheese bread alone would still make it worth the visit!

Stooks, Angelo's is still fantastic

Angelo's is very good. Even though the customers don't always dress up, it's got an old fashioned fanciness about it. On the weekends they have a DJ/Keyboardist who plays dinner music on the small stage at the head of the dance floor. The first time we saw him there, we thought it was kind of cheesy, but now it sort of lends itself to that old fashioned dinner club atmosphere. (If you go on your actual birthday, either your dinner is free or they knock a good portion of the cost of the bill).

johio83: Is the cheese bread still that bubbly, creamy concoction on French bread?

If you want little more casual the Brown Jug at Trotters is surprisingly good. I'ld recommend the BG location over Toledo based on quality of service though.

Upso, Glad to hear that!
