Channel 13 slightly confused?

Just saw a spot on TV that they are claiming that the Fermi II plant is the most polluting power plant in the nation, with mercury coming from its coal burning operation?????????????????????
Since when did a nuclear power plant use coal????

Well, they had to fix it somehow.

The plant in question is DTE Energy’s Monroe Power Plant.

They were showing pictures of Fermi II and actually said Fermi II in the story at least when I was watching it.

It's Nuclear coal.

BTW do you realize that every time you get an MRI that is actually a Nuclear test? It's also safer then X-rays.

MRI is nuclear? Strange that it uses MAGNETIC imaging, and xrays are radiation. CAT scan is a series of xrays.

Do magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound use radiation?
MRI and ultrasound procedures do not use ionizing radiation. If you have either of these types of studies,
you are not exposed to radiation.

MRIs are also called Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Nuclear generally left off the name so people don't get freaked out. It's just branding.

It is lump in with nuclear medicine but has no radiation.

An MRI does not use ionizing radiation. At this point the risks of an MRI are much lower than a procedure that uses ionizing radiation, but this is not a risk-free procedure.

Your right, since its a very powerful magnet weird things can happen, just watch House all kinds of things happen hehe

Do you suppose the plant emits more mercury than one of the new lightbulbs?!
