I've been to a few talks at the Lake Erie Center on Bayshore Road and I always learn something new about the geography and natural history of our area. This Thursday (1/17), there's a talk at 7:00 p.m. on Ballast Water and Invasive Species.
February's lecture is 2/21: A River that Runs Through Toledo (and Point Place);
March 21st is Ecosystem Restoration from the Everglades to the Great Lakes;
and the April lecture (4/18) is Harmonizing Humans and Nature for the Changing Globe.
Admission to the lecture is free, and sometimes the grad students bring cookies.
We're going to make an East-side-centric night of it, have dinner first at Sonny Berry's supper club, or Tom's BBQ, or possibly Packo's.
