Labne or Kefir Yogurt cheese

Anyone ever heard of Labne or Kefir yogurt cheese? (actually Labne might be a name brand of Kefir cheese, not sure tho)

can you get it in the area?

Actually, "Labne" I believe is Labneh - Lebanese cream cheese. I'd try Tiger Bakery.

Kefir, as a beverage (milk substitute), is widely available in the area but I don't ever recall seeing Kefir cheese.

Tks Foodie - I called Tiger and they have it.

Now for the dangerous part... going in there and getting JUST what I need and not a ton of other stuff!!

labne is strained yogurt, put a bunch of yogurt in a cheese cloth and drain off the liquid, add some salt and you have labne, labneh... or however you want to spell it, it's translated out of arabic so it's spelled many ways in english. Kefir is kind of like yogurt except with a different bacteria culture that looks like a weird sponge. it's usually made with milk but i've made some with coconut milk.

I second Middle East Market. Great customer service, reasonable prices, and their kitchen is out of this world!
