Can you help me figure out who this was?

This group is a great cross section of the Toledo area, not only geographically, but across time, as well. So I'm gonna throw this out there, just in case one of you might know the answer.

I'm trying to recall the name of a guy... Tom, perhaps? He owned a carpet cleaning business (and some other things) back in the mid-to-late 1970s. Tom? Thomas? I remember that he was very interesting. Short in stature. Prematurely balding, I believe. He was no older than 30 at the time.

Ring a bell?

Well apparently, the mere process of typing all that out triggered something in my brain. I have recalled the guy's name.

Oh, how I wish I could delete my initial post. LOL!

OK. Now how about sharing the name, since you put the mystery in our heads? :-)

I don't need a name. I just want to know what "other things" means. :)

^ Ha ha! There must be something in the air in late January ... I just spent 2 hours online trying to track down some old college friends. They were from a generation before Face book, so detective work is required.

Hey Viola, I have found some folks using Linkedin. Some people who don't do facebook have Linkedin accounts for professional reasons, and you can also search by college if they listed it.
You are probably familiar with it, just throwing it out there.

Are you thinking of Tom Watkins...not the newsman, the carpet guy?

He's still around. Maumee. I don't think I should post his name. I will say that I went on one of the best dates of my young (at the time) life with him, and we stayed in touch for several years afterwards. He was a very nice guy, and was always a total gentleman.

I guess I'm just feeling super nostalgic these days for some reason.

Justread: All I ever really knew is that he was very entrepreneurial. Always totally above board stuff.

Viola, maybe there IS something in the air! So far this year, I have re-connected with some old college mates and some army buddies from over 30 years ago.

Justread, that's good advice about LinkedIn. On FB people sign up under their pet's name, or use nicknames, or they mess around so much, one hesitates to connect with them in a visible manner ;-). LinkedIn seems pretty straightforward. Thanks

I was in a group that bought a business from him. He rode a bike all over but also had a blue sedan. Sound right?

Wait, I know what Tommy it was now. It was the Tommy who shot Spider in the foot and then killed him when the limping Spider got too wise:

Hmmm... Could be, but that's just a guess.

Six letters in his last name?

Hope the business deal went ok.

I just finished watching Goodfellas a couple days ago. Again. It's part of my video rotation while I walk on the treadmill.

Oh wow! What a freaky coincidence. Well, don't know if you ever still see him, but if you do, let him know that his Elvis date from 1975 says hello :-)
